| Subject: | Next year, the annual event of CHINAPLAS will enter its 26th edition. Since 1983, CHINAPLAS has been serving as a growth engine as well as an exhibition platform for the plastics and rubber industry. Without a single made-in-China machine back in the first edition, China's plastic machinery export nowadays ranks first in the world.
With total exhibition area reaching 180,000 sqm and more than 2,400 exhibitors taking part, this year's CHINAPLAS is another grand occasion, being one of the top exhibitions in the plastics and rubber industry in terms of scale and influence. Riding on the unprecedented success this year in Guangzhou, CHINAPLAS 2012 will be held in Shanghai.
The metropolis of China, Shanghai has been developing rapidly during the past two decades, and has become the financial and commercial center of China. In 2010, Shanghai's total GDP grew to RMB1.687 trillion (US$256.3 billion) with GDP per capita of RMB76,000 (US$11,540). In the latest edition of the Global Financial Centers Index published by the City of London Corporation, Shanghai is now ranking fifth, trailing behind only Hong Kong and Singapore in Asia.
CHINAPLAS 2012 is expected to break new grounds, exceeding 200,000 sqm in exhibition area. The show next year is likely to host more than 2,600 international exhibitors and attract more than 85,000 visitors.
